Leadership

Pastor

Rev. Kate Payton

Pastor Kate was born and raised south of Columbus, Ohio, the first of three daughters. Her parents (health teacher and worker’s compensation attorney) are staunch Methodists and she and her sisters were in church at least twice a week. Her ecumenical exposure came from being carted to every VBS any church in the area offered, then off to Methodist church camp, and then a Methodist college (Ohio Northern.)  She met her husband, Abraham, while in her second appointment in D.C. They have been married 5 years. They have a Shih Tzu rescue named Olaf (after Abraham’s alma mater St. Olaf College.)

Kate’s passion for ministry is to heal. Life does bring us more than we can handle, and no one–those harmed and those causing the harm–should have to shoulder the chaos alone.
